Yeah, I've got another machine with a zif dip 68k somewhere.. Hackjob as well, life is too short to get a dip 68k to fit in a normal socket :lol: :roll:

I have not seen those sockets.. But they do look interesting to me, as the normal ZIF sockets are a PITA to fit anything :roll:

I didn't update the thread about my build for quite a time, because I got distracted with real life, but I will do this soon, with some more photos and what I added to this beautiful thing - it's quite complete now (UltraSATAN internal, Roland RA-50 connected to MIDI - which is fully MT-32 compatib...

It sounds like the PSU is shutting down like overcurrent protection. It works with 0.5A but not higher on the ST. But I don't know what would really cause that problem.

@exxos Do you offer a kit version as well? It's unlikely to happen. It creates a lot of work to do variations on things, time, ordering parts, bagging them up, buying parts twice, writing guides etc etc. Ironically I should be charging more for kits because of the extra work involved.
