New old project: Synchronize your Atari's clock via the Internet

Post by czietz »

In 2016 I made a little project based on the low-cost ESP8266 microcontroller to sync date and time via Wifi. This is probably little known - because back then I only documented it in German and the time zone was fixed to CET/CEST. Until now!

This weekend, I reworked it to support any time zone and wrote a bit of documentation in English. This makes it a very cheap and easy method to keep your Atari's date and time always correct. No more hassle with RTCs, batteries, daylight savings time...

Head over to my website to read all the details.

PS: If anyone wants to make a nice PCB for it, please be my guest! (I built it on Veroboard, so have other people using my schematic. Still others just connected ready-made modules with jumper wires.)
