Mono *is* high res. So you ground the mono pin on the port, it tells the ST to boot in high res / mono. The jumper on the shifter switches the rgb lines out and pushes mono on each rgb line so you can use a VGA monitor . other than a multisync monitor to deal with all 3 resolutions, there isn't anything else to do.zChris wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 4:29 pm Alright. Is getting MONO the same as high res? Maybe i have mixed that up. Anyway when i ground the mono pin and jumper the MUX i get a blank screen. Is there something else thats needs to be done in order to get MONO / high res ? Atm there is a VGA connector soldered on.
It operates like a real ST other than the MUX does the same as on the ST2VGA adapters, only the H4 has it built on and the VGA connector on the H4.
Your monitor should report the sync frequencies ? I think mono is 72hz ?
Also try jp2 next to the DAC ?
Assuming you can get color mode ... What happens when you ground mono ? Also don't confuse mono with mono detect..
