Hi everyone.
Absolutely stoked to have gotten my hands on a C1 board, I thought I'd left it too late as per normal and missed out.
Progress so far is basic in the bare bones to prove it works (more on that later )
Now for my issue from a Noob to this project - it won't boot. I could do with the collective wisdom of the group to see if I've forgotten anything obvious including jumpering, in particular what should the "blanking" jumpers be set to around the video DAC?
For the obvious, monitor works on my baby 520ST so eliminated that
I've set the board to "force mono" as assume this takes another choice out of the equation.
There's 2 jumpers near to the Blitter socket, do both of these need to be jumpered if the blitter is NOT there?
I've also belled out my soldering, the 13pin DIN correlates to PCB holes for the VGA socket so they are all through, had a bit of a look at the SIMM socket and the soldering looks fairly good, any thoughts on how to check this as it looks as if not all of the pins are doing something.
I've got 5v on the board and the DIL chips, chips that are warming up include the ACIA, WD1772, 68901, 72 pin simm and I'm assuming the buffer IC's - the board mounted VIdeo DAC is also getting the hottest.
Chips that seem cool are the GLUE, 68000, MMU, Video Shifter and DMA which surprises me a bit
cheers
Mike

Re: Mikes C1 build
When I say "won't boot" that's actually a bit presumptuous as I haven't eliminated it being a video problem as of yet
Re: Mikes C1 build
The two holes in the middle of 3V3 #2 needs to be linked. There is four holes underneath the top 32 holes in 3V3 #2.
Re: Mikes C1 build
Also pin 2 & 3 on the DS1315 needs to be linked if that is not present. (next to cartridge port).
Can't remember if it's needed for booting though.

Re: Mikes C1 build
Sorry, it is actually pin 10 & 11. The chip is upside-down. It is marked on the silkscreen with a square.

Jumper settings
I don't think much has changed since this was written:

Re: Mikes C1 build
So I've looked at jumpers and belled out most of my 72 pin SIMM socket, not much to report except still not booting.
Can anyone confirm if this is SJ2? And should it be "made"?
thanks

Re: Mikes C1 build
@MP76 I don't think SJ2 needs to be made but maybe @exxos can correct me.
I've looked at the photo though and you will need to link the two pins in the square together on the DS1315 since you don't have a clock chip fitted. I also can't tell from the photo whether your rom chip is the right way round? Pin 1 needs to point downwards.
Also make sure you jumper the two middle pins in the 3v3 flashy clock socket as marked in the square in this photo.

If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
