I don't think that yellow wire from the RTC dongle should be connected.

EDIT: It is needed if you want to switch roms with software and it is stated in the STorm manual. Sorry about that.

That is the wire that goes to pin 3 on the cloudy to allow TOS switching.. OR I remove it and put the jumper on.

From the RTC? Where does it say that? It sounds wrong.

EDIT: It is stated in the STorm manual and is for software switching. Sorry about that.

James, I don't know if it will help any but here's a couple of pictures of my
Cloudy/STorm ST installation on my Mega ST. It has the RTC as well.

Would be nice with more resolution, also pointing out or showing the pins from your rtc to the storm might help. Where your wires are coming from the RTC to the cloudy pin 3.. can you point that out to us?

Argh, sorry. I took those pictures when I first installed it (not great res).

When I purchased the Cloudy/STorm ST combo with the RTC, they had
it already wired up. The Cloudy was already mounted to the STorm ST
board as well. I didn't have to do any wiring at all so I didn't pay much
attention to it. Sorry. :(

I do remember reading a interesting section in the "TOS Switch" docs:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOSWITCH.TOS enables switching between the operating systems of the Cloudy
via software, provided that a StormST is installed in the system in addition to
the battery-backed clock module (ZS-042 or DS3231).

To do this, simply connect the pin called SQW of the clock module
with pin 3 of the Cloudy, using a cable.

Pin 4 oft the Cloudy remains open. If there is a jumper on pin 3 und 4
of the cloudy, please remove it.

TOSWITCH.TOS recognizes the operating systems on the Cloudy and shows the
active system with an *. Press Return or Enter to restart the Atari ST with
the other operating system. The selected setting is retained by the
clock battery (3V, CR2032). Press other key to quit.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sure you've looked at the wiki for all 3:

https://wiki.newtosworld.de/index.php?title=Cloudy

https://wiki.newtosworld.de/index.php?t ... ghtning_ST

https://wiki.newtosworld.de/index.php?title=Storm_ST

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Aah, great. That solves the extra wire I couldn't find when reading about the three board. It's on the STorm link. I have edited my post above about it. Sorry.

Glad it helped. I know when I was installing the Cloudy and STorm ST boards in my Mega ST4 (and I had a few
problems, you probably remember) I found it most helpful to read from all 3 Wiki entries. The information
overlaps a bit.

Well I have not been able to get these to work.. with TOS switching. I also cannot flash it. or update it on the H5.

I am pulling out my MegaST that I was using for the PAK030 build, I will install just the storm and the cloudy in it, see if I can do all the switching. If that is successful, then it shows that it has to do with the H5 and not the expansion boards - since this seems to be just about flashing and changing TOS etc.. I wonder if there are differences of how the remake board handles TOS and the Storm/cloudy does??

Nope. Any expansions designed for the STFM should work on the H5. The only issue will be that you won't be able to mix and match stuff when the H5 specific addons are all done as they will likely conflict.
