Hey guys,
I've currently got 64mb (2x32mb) ram in my Storm ram card for TT, I spent a lot of money buying 128mb dimms from ebay... none of them work, so I had to stop before I became bankrupt.
Anyone got any 64mb or 128mb dimms that you'd sell me to me for a fair price?
Let me know, thx

My pair of 128Mb were from evilBay. I too found problems with some SIMMs but found the 16 chip ones seemed to work. 8 chips per side.
Here is a pic of the set I have with the chip numbers on if this helps to track ones that work down.

I've a 64MB EDO DIMM (Compaq badged) you can have.
A friend gave me a couple of 32MB ones which I installed in my Storm and then when I saw them over Christmas said that they'd found another, 64MB one in their old junk pile and gave it to me. (For the last 20 years they've been gathering bits and bobs from car boot sales.)
Seeing as I have all the RAM I want/need in my TT I have no use for the 64MB DIMM, so if it can be of use to you then all the better.
Just PM me and I'll see about putting it in the post.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

That's a 168pin DIMM, not a 72pin SIMM. Not gonna work I'm afraid.

Re: WANTED: 64mb/128mb EDO for TT
I'm curious: The 128MB SIMMs you bought on eBay that didn't work, were they using small, flat RAM chips? That is, more modern-looking than your average SIMM? I've come across a few of these that appear to be modern produced SIMMs (PCB has a 2013 date on it IIRC), but are using 3.3V DRAM chips without a voltage regulator. It seems they're hit-and-miss, but in general a terrible idea to use non-5V-tolerant parts on a 5V-only SIMM.

Those seem to need a 4k refresh which I've been told is not supported by the Storm card.rpineau wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 2:07 pm MemoryX has EDO 60ns non parity : https://www.memoryx.com/32mbx326e.html
