FS: Two QFP 040 CPU's

Post by Steve »

Not sure if anyone wants these? I have no need for them. I had two faulty powerbook Macs I de-soldered these from, the CPUs are probably OK but I can't be sure.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284812072995

Just msg me if you want them outside of ebay.

Nono, that would be madness.

...but they're just sitting there.

No, really haven't got the time to learn about 040s, they're much different to 030s.

...but it's quite cheap, you could just buy one and keep it for later.

No, no. Look they're only 33MHz anyway.

...yeah but that would be offset by the power of the chip.

No, no, I've only just about got an 030 to fit, think about all the extra logic.

...yeah, but look how small they are! Just a couple of SRAM chips to get going lots of space for a big old CPLD.

No, no, no, no stop it!

etc.

Hahaha thanks, but I think in seriousness, no.

I decided a while back that emulated CPU was likely to be my preferred next step. PiStorm or the equivalent. :)
