Atari Mono and Colour monitors available

Post by rubber_jonnie »

Hi All

I've been in touch with somebody in the UK who has both Mono and Colour Atari displays that they are looking to move on.

I believe they are an SM124 and an SC1425.

I was offered them, but simply don't have the room for 2 full size displays.

If anybody is interested, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the current owner.

These are in the UK (Warrington area), and I would suggest you will need to collect them, as they aren't the sort of thing you'd send in the post or by courier.

Hopefully somebody can give these a good home.

Hi,

Are either/both of the monitors still available? If so I'd be interested in finding out a bit more...

Regards,
Jez

Hey Jez, both are still available, if you'd like to PM me your email address, I will pass it on to the guy who has them.

Hi RJ

I don't think I ever heard anything back from your contact about these monitors...if i did then I've missed it & lost the details somehow (old age & general decrepitude...which comes from having teenage kids! Maybe I'd have been better sticking to playing with computers & music    ). So apologies to all concerned if it's my bad.

My main reason for asking is that I've still not managed to fix any of my faulty SM124s (up to 3 now) & if I lose any more mono monitors I'll be having to swap my remaining working mono screens (2x SM125s) between the different Ataris for my music setup.

If they're not available then fair enough & I will just have to extract the digit & get at least one of the SM124s repaired in short order.

TIA
Jez

Hey Jez, I did pass on your details but never heard back, sorry I must have forgotten to get back to you in my own decreptitude! I would expect they have gone by now

Ok, it's probably too long since they were offered, as you say.

No problem; I will just have to pull them apart & see what might have gone wrong. I'm sure they all worked OK the first time I turned them on (so they survived transport OK) but then failed to power up properly - from memory, I think the screen stays dark & there is no life from the power indicator either.

I will have a trawl on this site & the web to see what I can find to help troubleshoot them. Given the absence of any horrible smells or oud pops or cracks, I'm hoping it's a relatively simple fix.

Cheers,
Jez

Not your fault, just how things turn out sometimes.

Me too. If I can't find any info on the site already then I will start a new thread to cover it.

Thanks anyway.
