Having seen this I can't see how traders in the UK will be able operate internationally, or traders outside actually sell into the UK. It's going to be a disaster. Sourcing PCBs from China is also going to be more expensive, if they bother to deal with people in the UK at all.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I'm sure things will rapidly change. When these reports come out they're always based on yesterdays facts. There will be fluctuations and there will be deals and arrangements between nations extremely quickly. Nothing like Brexit.

I dont see how the VAT rules will be any different. We have to pay 20% VAT on all goods anyways. Things like Amazon will not be any different as goods will only be charged VAT at point of sale.

I've no idea how they expect to enforce the direct payment. They cannot police every single package/letter that enters the country. Just dont put any declaration on it.

I believe that It would mean more paperwork for @exxos ?

And maybe an update on the store to accomodate UK vs abroad fees ?

From the point of view of an EU retro seller, which usually are small-ish businesses, you'll simply become a non-EU customer, just like people in the US or Switzerland. (Large sellers might have other options.) Meaning that stuff you buy gets sent to you with a customs declaration and perhaps a proforma invoice and your tax and customs authority will collect any taxes and duties that apply from you, the buyer. This potentially means that you end up paying more, unfortunately.

People will get billed 20% inside the EU just like everyone else in the world. Considering I end up paying £2,000+ a year in import costs anyway on stuff.. most of my stuff comes from USA.. aside from PCBs which come from China, had a nice bill of £700 on PCBs recently.

Thankfully I just bought an Atari joystick service pack, but I'm wanting to get my hands on a new old stock original at some point and they're always in America. Same with some of the new floppy disks in sealed packs.

Guess now I should prioritise this. :roll:
US Atari 520 STFM (C070523-001 REV.D1) 4MB Marpet Upgrade, TOS 1.04, EmuTOS 1.0, Ultrasatan, PP Driver, Original Floppy Disk Drive, NEC Multisync EA193Mi Monitor.

Hmmm. Isn't that what the UK has voted for four years ago?
And remember: Beethoven wrote his first symphony in C.

I recommend watching "The Great Hack" on Netflix. It's a documentary on how Cambridge Analytica manipulated public opinion in a couple of cases, including the Brexit campaign.

Is this actually documented properly on a government site somewhere ? Tabloids are the worst source of unreliable information.
