Did you get anything Atari/Retro one this Christmas?
Did you get anything Atari/Retro one this Christmas?
Its been a busy Christmas, doing lots of other things But have had 30 mins here or 40 there, so managed to fit in a few quick jobs.
So far I've done:
Upgraded an STFM to 1mb
Recapped two PSU's
3d printed two Gotek brackets and installed flash floppy
Started the cleanup of the STFM and will likely sell it with 1mb, Gotek, etc.
Lots more to do, including finishing off the video on the STF remake, before making it's new desktop type case. Getting my Pak's working etc.

If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

I upgraded an STFM from 512K to 1Mb. Then i got IDE working on the TF534 with EmuTOS.
Other than that i've been bed bound with flu.

I pulled my Atari STe, a ton of floppies, and an Atari Jaguar out of storage. 24kg in all, to ship to my current place. My own christmas presents for myself!
Re: Did you get anything Atari/Retro one this Christmas?
I spent time removing TOS 1.6 ROM chips from an STE which were solder to the board directly. Now waiting on the new IC sockets to arrive and solder in.
Fixed a Roland D-5 Synthersizer keyboard which I was given. Just needed a capacitor replacing to fix the sound output. Now need to find time to learn to play the thing. Plan is to connect it to my Falcon and Cubase.

Cool, not seen a D5 in a while, I've got a Kawai K4 here that needs some more attention.kodak80 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 1:16 pmI spent time removing TOS 1.6 ROM chips from an STE which were solder to the board directly. Now waiting on the new IC sockets to arrive and solder in.

Hardware-wise no, but made some good progress on my next Falcon030 demo to be released at Sommarhack 2019.

The shipping for the lot was just shy of 50 quid, which to be honest isn't terrible. I threw on a few quid's worth of loss/damage insurance too, though, because these things are important to me (compared to when I'm buying for parts off ebay!)Forgottenmyname wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 8:30 pmOuch, 24kg, hope its not too expensive to ship but can imagine you are looking forward to it all![]()
Some of the weight comes from old manuals and the like. I'm looking forward to rifling through all my old disks: games I'd forgotten, saved games from 25 years ago, cover disks, boot disks, etc!

I think the real question here RubberJ is were you able to get any Magic Smoke out of the floor tile?rubber_jonnie wrote: ↑Thu Jan 03, 2019 12:55 pmDone a little before Xmas, but added a SIMM typ RAM upgrade to my 520ST, the onboard RAM is just not playing.
