Thats the thing, this all came out of a waste compartment. Ive only refilled this thing 3/4 times and it was overflowing, in videos they totally dismantle it, vacuum all the bits and refil it either thru that hole, a cut hole or pour it thru the gap door thing in the toner. I think if it had not overflowed and physically failed it would have carried on.

So next plan is empty that comparment somehow without dismantling it every other refil. I think it can be done as theres a huge gap in the cart when its complete, so to build a flat vacuum nozzle is the next challenge :D

Cart 2... well failed sort of
During a 200 page print run, started getting error messages saying replace toner, the toner has failed.
It was rather hot I wonder if I overheated it
I would be pretty p*ssed if that was a genuine cart that had died in a little over 500 pages, cleaned it up and it went off again, it had cooled down by this point.

Interestingly the carts rated for 1500 pages, if the current count is to be believed it would carry on until 1900? history tells us 3000/3500 is normal :p
Lets see about that shall we

Update on that cart
It lasted until 3800 pages with 25% left its been suffering some serious fading for the last 1000 or so pages, it says theres about 1200 pages left in it, I doubt it.

So I took it out and put in another cart that ran out, like totally could not even read the prints, I refilled it, luckily these carts have a little refill whole so no drilling this time, however toner still got everywhere

Also bit of a new discovery if you put in a good messed with cart and then hot swap it for a cart with the chip covered, and don't reboot the printer it takes the serial number and other info of the previous cart on the status print out but the page count changes. Weird behaviour, which would lead me to believe you could keep 1 good cart about and then use the refilled ones and not be bothered by warning messages about "unable to read the chip" you only get it once anyhow

Current carts on its 3rd refill, we just hit 6000 pages, 50g a refill, I think we might break the record here with this one :D
The carts with the refill hole seem much higher quality build wise too, wonder if that helps :D
I think the record was 7000 before I killed the cart :p

Refill 4 incoming, we set a new record this cart now has about 7500 pages on it :D
I noticed this cart seems to be built from new parts, none genuine parts, the older carts that failed and fell in quality were cheap 3rd party carts, it shows that not all refills are equal

Another 50g should get us to over 9000!

Got these lovely toner marks on the outer edges beyond where the paper goes, its not getting on the paper, keep going anyhow

The toner marks were getting out of control, getting thicker and all over both edges, so I decided to clean the toner put. We was just under 9000 pages, only 200/300 short. Since I can't empty the waste toner part where all the excess toner is leaking from without breaking the cart, there are videos on it make it look too easy, its not  . I decided to empty it and then give it clean with ISO, we see what happens tomorrow.

Here's what was in the waste, it kinda fell out  :
