Russ

Post by PaulJ » Thu Jun 20, 2019 5:31 pm

Out of curiosity does any one know what's up with Russ. Used to be a big poster here and on FB. Haven't seen anything from him in a couple months now but he just posted on FB that's he's terminating his account and moving to UTUBE. I thought maybe he had opened a soldering school and was living the dream or something of that nature. Seems like a number of people here have gone dark. :( :( :(

He just kind of disappeared, saw his resignation on several groups on FB, heard nothing about him selling his Ataris though.

Ya Russ was a diffient type.. think he wanted to be Exxos's advertising dept. He was pretty entertaining. He just never achieved the traction he was looking for. And his soldering.. its was unique.

It's not just the (de)soldering, look at the ROM socket to the left.

Haven't seen soldering skills like that since I had a Xbox 1 repair job for a gameshop, everybody tried to mount their own modchips, and a lot used the big 100W irons from the hardware store...

In one case all the pcb connections were gone from a 16 pin connector  , made it work in the end though.

He seems to be pretty active on AtariAge, following his habit from AF, i.e. spawning offtopic threads with repetitive content.
