Tips on downsizing selling my computer collection?

Post by zack4mac » Fri Jun 28, 2019 3:34 pm

Hi
I am making plans to downsize and I have too much stuff!

With this in mind do people still get together at reto computer meets to buy and sell old equipment! I know I could use eVBay but it unfairly favours the buyer this atracting the dishonest.
I have tried joining ebid but gave up on the 4th day of waiting for my ebid comfrmation! sad they have a really great opertunity with the way thier compatition is run!

I have lots of old bits and pieces some will no doubt end up at the tip and was thinking about listing my ATARI TT on this great forum but I dont think people are that interested? :ball:

Regards
Atari 2600, XEGS, STF/FM/E MSTE/TT CBM 16/64 VC20 PET A500, 600, 1200, BBC B, ZX81, ZX +3 Harlequin ZXuno plus too much junk to fit in one skip! my username should be Mr Hoarder.

You could try "Sell My Retro"

https://www.sellmyretro.com/

That's run by Rich Mellor who used to be a Sinclair stuff vendor back in the day.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Its worth posting here and leaving it for a couple weeks to give people chance to notice it before looking to sell elsewhere.

I'd list it here first at least. Youd be surprised what some people need / want.

As for your TT. I'd love one but they usually sell for more than I can afford.

Post up a list and see what interest you get.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Yes please offer here first, this is a great forum full of enthusiasts. Do ebay for things that do not sell...

The TT is a fairly rare machine and should sell for at least 400 GBP if in good working condition.
