Linux Tool for creating, editing and reading Amiga ADF?

Post by IngoQ » Sun Sep 15, 2019 9:06 am

Hi,

just a quick question for the Amiga guys around here? Does anyone know of a decent Linux tool for creating, editing and reading Amiga ADF Disk Images?

I'd prefer GUI but of course command line would do :)

I use xdftool in amitools.

You can install it very very easily on most distros.

pip install amitools

EDIT: here is a quick tutorial on getting going http://lallafa.de/blog/amiga-projects/amitools/xdftool/

Thanks a lot :)

On Debian-based distros, Amitools seem not to be in the default repos. Here is how I installed it:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install build-essential python-dev python-pip
sudo pip install setuptools
sudo pip install amitools

Yeah its a pip package (package for python) rather than a debian package. So only you have pip you have access to all these packages no matter what distro you are on.

I like xdftool because it lets me script creating adf files.
