I just read that myself.. 6 months of not being paid... What did Atari do with that $3 million ? And will people get their money back.. I doubt it.

We could have cloned & developed a new ST chipset and case for that amount..

I've backed the indigogo campaign so am obviously waiting to see what happens but it not looking like itll be much more than a basic linus PC that I'll be getting at this rate. Still, if that's the case, I would probably put MAME and a few other emulators on it and make it my own retro console.
Just have to wait and see.

I think a few people on here brought into it.

I think the whole thing has just been managed extremely badly right from the start. Do you remember the actual total they wanted, I thought it was $50,000 or something like that?
It does just seem like a linux pc build.. But with a expensive CPU ? It probably would have just been easier for them to contact a motherboard manufacturer and asked them to rework a mini ITX board to the form factor they want or something... As to the costs in that I don't know, but with the amount of funding they had, I'm sure they could have come up with a solution rather than just reinventing the PC motherboard again

Yeah the amount was in the 20 - 50k range I think.
Not sure itll ever be a real Atari VCS at this rate.

I've never expected anything else than a somewhat speedy set top Linux box. I'll be really happy if that's what I get.
Rather a nice looking box with an Atari logo than a box with another logo to run my Kodi and RetroArch.

It’s not looking good for Atari. Failure to turn up at court in the case of the architect that did not get paid.

They were trying to open up a Atari branded hotels as well, I think they are trying to do too much and have no funds for anything. I can just see them ending up in liquidation at this rate, or just simply sued that much they go bankrupt.
