STFM CASES & GOTEK

Post by JezC » Tue Jan 28, 2020 1:12 pm

I'm wondering if anybody has mounts for Gotek boards to fit in the different floppy style cut-outs? I have several long eject plus a few small eject cases & don't think all the floppy drives are salvageable...

One reason I quite like the Gotek USB model is it fits the small eject cutout with no modification.

That's my H4 in progress, Gotek mounted on standard size ST floppy drive mounts for this cutout, with UltraSatan mounted on top. The case isn't screwed shut, and the screen and the two buttons on the Gotek align a tad nicer once it is. I've got the same Gotek in my STe, and really like that it's totally usable with no changes to the case.

The case in the photo was purchased in this thread, so that makes this back on topic, right?

Is that the standard display or a small OLED?
Can't tell on my phone....

Great to know it can fit without case mods.

Well done for dragging it back on topic too.

That's OLED, standard size cutout in the Gotek. Although with the Gotek OSD mod, the display isn't used much anymore.

Ah, nice.
Only got the standard 7 segment display on mine so far.

I do have a couple of BluePill boards to try got Greaseweasle and the OSD when I get some time.

Nice to mount the US on top too.

I use these: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2664753
Hah, I don't know why I never thought of that for solving the cable twist problem. :D

Thanks for the link. I'll print one of these up and figure out how to make the UltraSatan bracket play along.

Ya, I've found myself wanting to make brackets and frames a lot lately so at some point I need to get a 3d printer. However for the GOTEK I don't think its a 3d printer issue but a small adaptor to plug into the GOTEK connector that has a new set of connector pins flipped. :foldarms:
