68060 dilemma
Re: 68060 dilemma
I read that the MMU library package got updated recently to deal with LC/EC variants. Anybody tried it? I didn’t have a whole lot of free time lately.
Re: 68060 dilemma
I doubt it.. hmm is there a recent link for download and I can check.
but in short: 68LC060 works.. but forget demos and games.. the fpu emulator FEMU works as 040 code.. SLOW as hell and buggy (but as it is V0.10 do not expect else
)
and as many defaulted 040+ to have fpu. if you have a LC060 cpu.. you should use code compiled for 030 without fpu. then it will work. will still be fast etc. but unfortunally I guess people will report issues with gurus etc as they forget the fpu issue. not a hardware issue. more a user-issue

Re: 68060 dilemma
personally I need an FPU and could do without MMU as I love demos and all the good ones require FPU as do many apps and games plus I still enjoy messing with 3D rendering too which also requires FPU.
of course that being said if you can find a non FPU 060 for a good price I say try it out and if you're ok with running the stuff you enjoy to do on your computer then all is fine
