Deleting files with Windows scheduler ?

Post by exxos » Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:44 am

Is anyone know how I can get windows schedule to delete files in a specific folder which are older than three days ?

I'm just looking for a way to automatically delete older backups as I am having to do this manually currently  I would assume there would be some way to call a batch file and do it from there somehow..

Yep, windows scheduler doesn't care about the task, it just schedules it :)

You probably want a Powershell script that gets the directory contents, checks the file age and then deletes anything too old.

Probably something that could be done with Python too.

A app I use called Eraser has some kind of schedule tools built in :

I use it manually though for its other file destroying features

You can use something like DelAge, it's a small command-line tool that... now well deletes files based on their age ;)
