I don't suppose anyone has an old Maplins catalogue (the good ones) going spare do they? That thing made the phone book look like a takeaway menu, and the info was astounding. I'd spend pocket money on that catalogue. Back then I knew next to nothing (an achievement I have kept to this day), but looking at the data provided really made me want to understand TTL, so I learned a little about logic gates when I was a kid. Good times.

Then the Maplin catalogue turned to nothing but a glorified Argos catalogue. Sigh. RIP Maplin. It's a shame print is so expensive, I'd sit on the loo reading the Canford catalogue, another tome worthy of jumping through hoops to get along with CPC, Axminster Tools.. times do change I guess.

Yeah.. was good info in there for sure. Good range of parts. I used MPS mostly as "maplin" went more like general hardware, like disco stuff and all that. MPS was more professional "maplin" catalogue, but I gave up, stuff always out of stock, ended in a huge mess of credit notes and got way to confusing what my account balance actually was. Probably not used in 20 years.

Oh cool. Thanks for that. I was totally unaware there was a 2nd tier. I wonder if there's any PDF's of them.... might go hunting tomorrow.
