I personally like to take the best of old-school hifi and incorporate it into my modern life. For instance I use a vintage Pioneer SA-8500 as my main amplifier for my computer system, powered by a modern Audiolab M-DAC so that it receives the best signal. Then I route it through very good modern bookshelf Energy canadian speakers.

This setup I use for all my computers, and retro machines. My Atari Falcon sounds absolutely sensational since it outputs through its FDI optical output to the DAC.

Wow, never knew that! tapes year, but LP! I need to get my a proper vinyl player again at some point.. Need to MP3 my Roland Rat LP...
