Game recommendations please

Post by Forgottenmyname » Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:58 pm

OK, so the truth is, that back in the day I had a number of Amigas, yes I know..... I should be stoned to death.... etc.

So as I've got older and the nostalgia has kicked in, I've been buying all of those computers I wanted as a kid.

So I've got the Atari 2600, Atari 800, XL and XEGS, Dragon 32 and TRS-80 COCO2, ZX81(was my first computer) and of course an STFm, STE and Mega ST x 2.

Back in the day I'd played the likes of R-Type, Frontier, New Zealand Story etc on the Amiga but until now had never played a single game on the ST. Most of my fun has been spent in fixing and upgrading my computers.

What would you guys recommend for an ST newb?

Thanks and good call with that link. Best not start reading now though or I'll not get any sleep.

I will try to list here some games which are considered as better on ST than on Amiga, or no Amiga v.
Not in some particular order, but one surely stands out:
Potsworth & Co. http://atari.8bitchip.info/ASTGA/P/potswco.php
6 games in one, good scroll ...
OIDS http://atari.8bitchip.info/SCRSH/oids.html
Live and Let Die http://atari.8bitchip.info/SCRSH/livald.html
As example how game can be very good responsive on controls.
Vroom - slightly better on ST
No Second Prize - fastest 3D
Trex Warrior - another fast 3D
Warhead - 3D in space
Resolution 101
There is 2 kind of people: one thinking about moving to Mars after here becomes too bad, the others thinking about how to keep this planet habitable.

If you want something silly play Stir Crazy feat. Bobo... Best potatoes peeling simulator ever! (not joking either... Really fun!! 😁)

Robocop is one of my fav too... Avoid robocop 3 like the plague... Its awful! Lol
