So having a various collection of retro systems , from my first computer an Acorn Electron , through to Commodore 8 and 16 bit series machines, Spectrums etc. I never had an Atari in my collection .... Until today
I now have an Atari ST 1040e
I do not know it's working condition, as all I got was the machine itself, no video cables or anything else was given.
I'd like to ask where to begin with this model please , such as
Recapping - Does the Atari ST like the Amiga benefit from being recapped ? If so , can anyone recommend who to contact that I could send this machine to who can inspect it, and advise on it's condition , what would need done to service it et
Upgrades - What are recommended upgrades for this model of Atari ?
Many thanks in advance and look forward to any replies

All about the ST PSU can be found here http://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/ PART 6.
Also my webshop has a lot of Atari ST stuff https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/
I can't help with machine repairs anymore though unfortunately, but I am sure there maybe someone else who may be able to help if needs be. But the PSU recapping is pretty much mandatory these days.

Re: Greetings from Edinburgh
Hi
My Atari 1040ste is now away being overhauled, and would like to ask where to obtain the 32mhz booster https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/V1STE/index.htm from and how much it costs please ?
If this isn't available, any recommendations as to what boosters are available and where to purchase them from would be appreciated.
Thank you
Edit : Have seen the posts about this, so any booster recommendations gratefully appreciated

Re: Greetings from Edinburgh
The V1 Was replaced by the red board V1.5 which was plug-in, but there are just too many ongoing issues that I am unlikely to be making them again.
I'm not aware of any other STE boosters, at least not any which are likely to be in production right now.
