One more bank to go and it's time to fit the sockets.

Then just because I hate desoldering so much, its onto upgrading a 520 to 1024k.

You need to be more automated ;) Get a semi-automatic desoldering pump, or get a hot air blower station and just blow the solder out of the holes ;)

I was thinking about a zd915 or something similar.

I have a heat gun, what do you use to blow out the solder? Mine is for SMD stuff, so not exactly ferociously powerful.

Mine takes ages to heat up, I'm sure there are better things out there these days.

I hate desoldering.
You might hate it but that looks like a really nice job. Unlike my attempts in the past

Thank you. Best advice I can give you is patience. That and a temperature controlled soldering iron.

My desoldering station arrives today. Will post an update about it later hopefully.

The desoldering station arrived today and although it took me a few mins to get the hang of it (lining the nozzle up properly), what took me well over an hour the other night, took me 15 mins with my new favourite desoldering device.

Which device did you go for in the end? Pictures?
