I am in a little quandary. My mind is battling with don't touch it and go on sort it out. This is probably a bit of a debate as the house is listed but this looks too dangerous to leave in situ. Am currently trying to figure out the date of this stuff. It's got to be <1970s

I'm thinking some of it may be 60s maybe even older, but I'd be in a quandary too thinking about what to do with it.

My current thinking is to tidy up the wires and the terminal blocks only preserving everything and only change the modern switch to a fused one as I don’t think that line is fused other than the RCD at the consumer unit.

Looks 1940s/50s to me.

What level of listing does the building have? If it's Grade I then you have to get permission to do almost anything.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

It’s Grade II. I could not cope with a Grade I.
