So my test machine packed in it seems.. its was the motherboard I was testing the SEC Booster on in fact, it just so happened to be the same motherboard that I use for testing the RAM on, so had to start again on the fresh board
.. and yes, I heat-gunned the DRAM out #tolazytocare
Doing some solder-blowing
The aftermath

Nice heat gunning. Cant beat a bit of economising with your time when you really don't need to reuse those soldered joints anyway.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Does actually do solder sucking as well, But I never really got on with it.

Ok, I'm going to say it since you set up the line so perfectly... "Nice blow job!"

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
This one fits better.. But now the mains socket Won't locate properly because that part of the plastic is now 1mm higher and I forget to lower the part under the socket
In any case, the hex nut seems to work pretty well...
Bit of a close shave next to the shifter box, so need to take a millimetre off that next
..
The infill of 50% does not seem to make them stronger than the 15% fill... It just took ages longer to print!
EDIT:
I have actually just realised, the rear holes are actually posts for the case fixings... So with this design those posts on the case would actually be too long... Though even if somehow the PSU bracket did look more like the original bracket, its only 1mm thick metal, and 1mm thick plastic isn't going to be very strong. So currently I am not sure of a solution for this.. It will basically have to have the posts on the case cut shorter and drilled to accept the bolt again..
EDIT2:
BTW if anyone wants to try this out so far.. I can send the current STL file...

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
I have been giving the rear posts some thought. The only way I can think it could work is if I make the rear posts larger in diameter to allow the case post to sit inside it.. The bottom of this section would have a 1mm thick piece of plastic, which would be the for the power supply similar to how the metal one is. Plastic obviously isn't going to be as strong as the metal, is probably the only way it can work I think.. I will try and do the objects for this and print one out..
