I don't get the folk who need their houses like the Bahamas all years 'round.
I guess the ambient temperature is going to affect my machine when it's back.
I've decided though that if it discolours I'm going to get the case professionally sprayed black.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
It would be nice to get through a day without having to stop to fix something
I'm using this little variac to control the speed of my big fan on the landing.. I turned it down and it got jammed.. Turns out the blue wire had gotten caught on the wiper and was preventing it from turning.. There is like a bent piece of metal which hits the plastic round stopper to prevent it going full circle, only I must've turned it the wrong way and it actually skipped over the stopper... I could not turn it back because that direction did actually stop, and I could not turn it around because the blue wire was preventing it
So took it to bits and bent the metal bit downwards a bit, that fixed the problem. I also put some contact grease around the wiper and contacts as it had dried out. All up and running again now

Almost as good as the "out of paper" error I once had when writing to a hard drive with a very early version of DOS... though to be fair to MS, it was reported on some very unwell hardware, shortly before it crashed completely!

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
I have built up five of the Falcon 3 in 1 adapters myself just to speed things up. There will be more made but will take about a month before I will get them back from the assembly guy.
I did do a revised version of this board, but as said before, I lost the prototypes so that project will probably have to wait for a bit now.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
Still working on stock items in the background so not much else going on lately
I have printed out a left side spool holder for my printer today. I have changed the left nozzle for a 0.2mm one.. As I'm going to see if I can get finer detail with it.. Probably not what I'm going to try anyway
The first nozzle I got was literally physically too small to fit But the replacement came yesterday and that fitted fine and I did a test print with the white filament already in my printer.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
So after printing out the wrong spool holder originally, then printing out the correct one only to find the spool itself is a different size than the other two I printed out a third one...
I also had to recess the actual rod thing where I ended up with some nice looking tree supports...
And after deforestation..
Getting prints off the bed is a pain.. So I generally tap it off with the heaviest item to hand, which was some heavy pliers, so I hit it, and of course pliers trapped my finger on the inside and caused a nice blood blister... Which popped not long after so there is blood everywhere
