That HR-PLA 3D870 sound very interesting. I sometimes print some astronomy hardware related pieces with ABS (brackets, ..), but may be I should try this new PLA.

I received a sample from them today so will do some tests tomorrow to see how good it is.

Started printing the first parts for the printer build. Am currently using the HR-PLA 3D870 filament to see how it performs, so far its printing nice and easy like normal PLA.

I think I need to reconsider where I am going to put this printer. It's going to be a little large.

It will be interesting to know exactly how much filament is required for the STFM Case Remake (top and bottom). I think I used during the prototyping prints approximately 80% of a 1Kg reel.

I have at a guess around about 5kg of pink PLA that I dont need (I use it for prototyping) A decent offer gets it :)

Musing and modding the original parts to make sure this thing is stable and supports the longer X span.

I have extended the front skirt underneath and added two additional feet either side of the LCD screen.

The heat bed is to be supported by four extrusions as opposed to the original 2 which has too much flex on such a large plate.
