Cool. Looking at soundcards as well, but need to wait a week for payday :)

This one was remarkably clean, I gave the heads a clean with IPA and running Locksmith speed test:

It's looking really very good, but the acid test will be to init a disk and copy something over too it. Need to just get a belt for the Seltron and I'll be good to go disk wise :)

:girldance:

EDIT: Init seems fine and dandy :)

@rubber_jonnie I've not tried that test program. I think one of mine needs a cap change as its a bit reluctant to work until it. "warms up" but the only other thing I had to do was lubricate the guide rails for the read heads as they were both squeaking when used.

@PhilC
I'd forgotten about the thunking they make when you use a disk for the first time after inserting.

Nice :)

Sadly I don't have a suitable neon myself or I'd do the same.

Somewhere I have a timing light for my car that used the same trick.

What is really handy is that the drive has a Drive 2 sticker on it so I don't forget which is which :lol:

@rubber_jonnie one is missing that, although the other drive has the drive 1 sticker.
