Thats the same problem we have with the STF remake I am buying bulk lots of chips of what I can, but the rest will have to go FPGA

Just because a lot of people agree on something, doesn't make it a fact. ~exxos ~

Re: re-Amiga 1200
Then the problem comes that if you replacing X amount of chips with a FPGA why not just go full FPGA and emulate the thing (Atari/Amiga/Amstrad/Sega whatever else) anyhow, that's a whole other argument right there
Very blurry lines between emulation/real hardware/remakes and emulated parts
I'm guessing it would be near impossible to have new runs of the original chips made and if so I can only imagine the costs
Re: re-Amiga 1200
Indeed. If we put everything in a FPGA, we end up with a MiST, or suska etc. So what would be the point in the project. There's been talks on here about it already anyway.DrF wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 1:19 pm Then the problem comes that if you replacing X amount of chips with a FPGA why not just go full FPGA and emulate the thing (Atari/Amiga/Amstrad/Sega whatever else) anyhow, that's a whole other argument right there

That’s exactly why I do open mine
