How about a sub topic under STF Remake for Users Boards.

Then we can have Forgottenmyname STF Remake Board Status & Icky STF Remake Board Status as separate topics and others can then add theirs in as they build out.

Finally got one of my boards built and powered on Saturday afternoon at our local Atari meetup but got no output to an LCD monitor via the cable created. I have made all modifications except the 16mhz one to the board.

The video cable created was a 13 pin to VGA colour video cable to resolve the video port pin issue. I used the pin outs from Dr Coolzoc's website and swapped the 13 pin connector pins out so they matched the PCB pin outs. I have attached a PDF of the cable created. I should also add that I used a 15 pin female connector and not the male one shown in the attached image and connected the cable from the monitor to this. The monitor is a known one that works at 15khz.

I have left the board with a friend who is an electrician by trade for some diagnostics. He was there when we powered on and initial diagnostics with a multi-meter showed that CPU halt was a possible cause for no video output. Any prompts on diagnosing the issue? My friend has a scope and should be able to do some fault finding on the board.

Based on my experience check the board over and over again for soldering. Magnifying glass with the extra lens on it or USB microscope helps. I kept checking and kept finding areas I missed or even looking at looked sound but with testing was not. Main areas I found are all the RP’s had lots of bad soldering there. Also look for the vias make sure they are clean and not connected by excess solder.

The RP area is what sprung my board into life what looked like a good join wasn’t.

Also open a thread for your board in the Alpha User Builds section so we can help diagnose and compare against the others progress.

Most /Halt errors I had were due to poor connections on the glue or Mmu, so it's worth checking the pins on the chips and sockets for good contact.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
