Assume thats a IMP blitter... So mixed stock at BEST then it seems...

Frank Lucas has been selling some on Ebay lately, got one of his which works fine. Came with a socket too, which I will put in my STFM

Ya, they are pretty much a last resort these days. If you can get it from them you will pay top dollar.

How possible would it be to emulate this chip in a FPGA or CPLD or whatever it is you use?
Surely as time goes on that would be a option that gets cheaper while using original chips is a option which gets more expensive and harder?

Hmm,this seems to mirror a conversation I had with exxos yesterday...
Collector of many retro things!
800XL and 65XE both with Ultimate1MB,VBXL/XE & PokeyMax, SIDE3, SDrive Max, 2x 1010 cassette, 2x 1050 one with Happy mod, 3x 2600 Jr, 7800 and Lynx II
Approx 20 STs, including a 520 STM, 520 STFMs, 3x Mega ST, MSTE & 2x 32 Mhz boosted STEs
Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

Working with Exxos we have this board which is about to be sent off to be produced. Of course there is still a lot more to do with this board.
