I'm happy to announce that the first batch of the Lightning ST (USB & IDE add-on card for STs) has been manufactured and tested. Thus, the Lightning ST is now ready to be ordered!

Price: 110 EUR (incl. worldwide shipping), for which you will not only get the card itself but also accessories (USB bracket, IDE cable, power cable, etc.).

Please place your orders via email: thunderstorm@tuxie.de. (Do not post you orders in this thread, instead, as the email address is our official channel for orders.)

Just received the Lightning St card and installed it in a mega 4. I haven't checked the IDE yet but it looks like most everything else is running great. Great work!!1 :) :) :)

I have two Lightning ST, one in a Mega ST Board with PAK030, FRAK 64MB Fastram, PuPla and a Panther/2 with ATI MACH64 and a NE2000 Ethernet. The other in a 1040 Board with PuPla and Panther/2 with ET4000/W32i and a Ethernet NE2000 and a PAK68/2-020. Both works great ...

I have received my Lightning ST too, nice board. I've installed it in an STFM with the CPU under the keyboard and I am really happy that the keyboard still fits. I now have TOS 2.06 working, so now I can work on the IDE and modify the shielding so it can be put back and used as mounting for the CF Card reader. I've tested the IDE and it's working great. I'm happy.

Never put the lid on this mega since its my guinea pig machine. Even if the lid was on and shield I don't believe there would be a heat issue. Exxos's power supply doesn't even get warm unlike the original supply also there is absolute no screen artifacts from power supply noise. I would also consider removing the mega's fan. The IDE interface tests out at 1774 KB/s while the usb stick tests out to 647 KB's but is running in PIO mode.I have used the wireless mouse which works good. With the tip.tos supplied I was able to transfer a one mb file in ~13 seconds.
