With a stereo lithography printer, probably no supports or only minimal.
A powder printer: well it's support all the way, so basically no supports :-)

In a year's time I may have access to such a powder printer.
We're trying to keep it at reasonnable costs.

Got a update
Ill have a photo taken and sent on, The main issue with printing is the overhangs,

There are a lot of angles air vents that need to be printed generally these need some support but the gaps we would usually use to print support material are also quite narrow which makes it difficult to remove the support material after the part has been printed without damaging the narrow angled vents.
So I have suggested some lengthways supports which will likely have to be permanent. But I guess as these cases going to be extremely expensive, adding supports isn't a bad thing anyway.

But well as was said supports are necessary, so indeed having underside permanent supports is a good idea, you still need to support those supports but it's eayser than supporting the vents directly.

3 months for a sample case is a bit long. Surely if they wanted the business they would have hurried up about it, did I read its coming from Ireland???
Is it 1 or a batch of them?

They having trouble with the top vent on the case being to fragile... So likely some case mods will have to be done.. but I know the case isn't 100% accurate anyway.. its more to see the finish than anything...

Its only one case.. £450 this thing cost! 10 printed cases be getting on for 5K, probably cheaper buy a pro printer myself

Jebus!
I'm assuming that £450 is because of all the design work/labour hours and stuff thats going into it?

Fragile? because of the design or the materials what solution have they come up with to that?

Thats just the printing cost of that one case, getting the 3D files done cost a bomb as well! So this project is well into 4 figures now!

Its just the design of the case itself, the vents only have a few mm each end holding them in place. I think they put supports running across the case as well.. Though a re-design of the "vents" is likely needed anyway.

It may be better to have more of a solid top, with lots of holes, and just the slanted vents to keep the appearance of the original case.

I thought that would have been easier might have stopped all the bits of crisps and stuff getting in too, might have just been me that
Still cant you stuff a panel under it? even one of those foil backed card like things that seemed to be put into whatever 80's device and pretend it was a RF shield.

I don't feel well
What's the end price looking like so far? I'm assuming a a few 1000 would drive it down, then quality does not come cheap.
