4MB RAM UPGRADE KITS PROGRESS

Post by exxos »

Image

I have placed an order for 100 of these boards to be built and assembled. The costs of this was well into four figures :( but I simply do not have the time to mess about assembling these any more. So it is just a matter of waiting for them to arrive now and I will of course be testing each one before they are added into my web shop.

They look almost identical to previous boards. I have tweaked they layout a lot to hopefully improve reliability of assembly. Last time I ordered some boards about 40% of them did not work and I had to repair them. Even so there was still a few boards which I was unable to repair. In any case, I should be able to get around 50 of these kits in my store again in a few weeks time.

Testing some out right now :)

I am also soldering on the connector and capacitor on the shifter adapter boards as a lot of people have troubles soldering the connector. I am continuity checking the boards the shorts and connections of my multimeter, but I would suggest people doublecheck this just in case :)

I am hoping they will be about 10 boards stock over the weekend :)

The remainder of this batch of 100 will be in stock over the weekend.

It took some days to test all 100 RAM PCBs out  there was a few which needed fixing, but not many, in the end only two failed out of this batch is the best I have ever had :D

I have spent the past couple of days soldering the SMT connector on the shifter PCBs. I can only really visually test these, but I have tested a few random ones of the multimeter to check continuity and all the board seem okay. I soldered these as people were really struggling with this part, to they are now supplied soldered at no extra cost.

Hopefully I will not have to produce these again, as they take enormous amounts of time and cost well into four figures to produce.
