PLCC FUNKY TO PLCC NORMAL ADAPTERS

Post by exxos »

As many know I developed the funky blitter adapter kit...

Though people are having difficulties assembling this, and I do not really blame them either as it is a bit of a nightmare. I am however considering getting a batch of these made up to make life easier installing these..

So I wonder how much interest there is in having these assembled... Do not really know how much these would cost, but I would expect the price to be below £15.. I have asked for a quotation so I guess we shall see..

I have been talking to mine PCB guy, and working with him to assemble 100 of these sockets.. I will try and keep the final price as low as possible for people. I would expect somewhere around £15 per socket assembled.

Likely will be no more news now about this until the New Year...

Damn, if only I'd seen this before I ordered my TOS switcher this morning, I probably need at least 2!!

Spent too much in December/Jan on Atari stuff, I'd probably better wait until payday
Collector of many retro things!
800XL and 65XE both with Ultimate1MB,VBXL/XE & PokeyMax, SIDE3, SDrive Max, 2x 1010 cassette, 2x 1050 one with Happy mod, 3x 2600 Jr, 7800 and Lynx II
Approx 20 STs, including a 520 STM, 520 STFMs, 3x Mega ST, MSTE & 2x 32 Mhz boosted STEs
Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

Do you use any isolation material between the adapter and Atari board?

Something like some card has to be used to stop the PLCC socket from shorting on the motherboard.

I mention it on my site http://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/blitter/index.htm and on the store link.
