Went off for me completely for a few minutes, didn't see the topic button issue.

Are you still getting the DoS attacks @rubber_jonnie ?
If so, that might cause a brief period of non-responsiveness?

No, they've ceased it would seem.

Well, that must be a relief!

Doesn't explain the short forum outage you saw then.

It is as we kept losing Internet, as for the forum, can't really say.

I just updated the English language pack as I noticed it was causing some areas in the profile areas.

I tested it before going live and did not see anything out of the blue amiss..

The error probably came about because of me trying to back port stuff from the new server and forum back over to the old one

So you let me below if you see anything that suddenly looks broken when it wasn't earlier.. ( yes I did make a backup of the old profile first  )

EDIT:

Dammit, I cannot access some parts of the admin control panel now

EDIT2:

To be related to the English profile

very strange, for some reason it thinks the permissions control panel is in..

Code: Select all

./../language/en/en/acp/permissions_phpbb.php couldn't be opened.' in /var/www/html/forum/phpbb/language/language_file_loader.php:185\nStack trace:\n#
It should not be /en/en, But it only does it with the permissions tab :stars:

So I cheated and just copied the entire control panel into that folder and now it is working again.. No idea what is going on there.

Just had another report of the "reset user password" coming up with error 500.

This again is relating to the UCP.PHP ( user Control Panel) because I basically ported a later version back to this older forum, which was not a good idea but did not really have much choice.

Anyway, that is now "fixed" but the messages as to what just happened are currently missing. Likely there are more missing messages somewhere as well. But unlikely anyone will really come across them or notice them.

It seems in later forum software they completely rearranged the language files. So the new UCP uses the new files, and when running on this older forum, those files are missing which is what causes the error 500 pages. So I just dumped both user files into the same folder to get around this problem.

I'm not really looking into fixing this because we should be moving to my new server for running later software "eventually".

But if something is broken, then just shout out and I will have a look to see if it is something I can patch up meanwhile..

I am going to be installing some stuff on the server.. So things may intermittently crap out as I may have to restart Apache etc.
