Mostly people say the proper RTC chip fits in a socket fine, and this module isn't any taller than maybe 1mm from the original RTC.

Though until someone tries it, I really cannot say if the metal needs cutting or not... I could produce some small adapter PCB's if needs be, but I hope they not be needed.

Overall, the module should be fitted into the motherboard (Without a socket) so there shouldn't be any height issues there since people are fitting the original RTC in a socket which is taller than this module anyway.

The new blue PCBs just arrived last few purple ones which have sold in my store also have the capacitor mod done to them. These new blue PCBs also have the mod, but to prevent confusion (possibly ?) all the new blue ones well have the capacitor. The capacitor should help with a lot of screwy issues which people seem to be having. Of course I listed the capacitor mod in the main page and recommend this is done on all purple boards just to be sure.. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=37#p2479

These are all being assembled in the UK as I struggling to build them fast enough. I am hoping there will be around 25 in stock over the next couple of weeks.
