I'm pretty darned happy with what I have so far. :)

Any reason why the GAL needs to be socketed? If I sink it I'll be able to get my RF shields back on. :)

Well it worked. I can't believe all this actually worked the first time around. I was sure it was going to take a few reworks.

Now to pluck out all those ROM chips and flash 'em with TOS 206... This is shaping up to be a big job. I'm exhausted.
You can't put 2.06 in a stock 1040. It lives in a different location an you need some decoding for the new location. I'm waiting for Exxos's accelerator that provides the need memory decoding to use 2.06. The board you have may provide it but I don't read German so I assume it doesn't. If you do have a solution for running 2.06 other than a memory load let me know.. :) :) :)

You can build two 27C010 Eproms to fit in a 28pin socket. Ask Exxos for guidance to do that. And at a CE wire to the GAL on the IDE Interface Board and ROM2 to the GAL on the IDE Interface Board. See the 1040ST schematics ...
Oh right, I was that tired last night that it didn't click. You're the guy I bought it from.

I notice that the other version you have includes a TOS 206 option? I don't speak German so I didn't quite understand. What's the difference between the two products?

With TOS 2.06 Option is the IDE Interface Board plus two 27C010 TOS Eprom Adapter PCBs to put TOS 2.06 in the original 28pin TOS sockets. I can send you the two Adapter PCBs if you want ...

There are IDE autoboot extensions for older TOS versions available: http://atari.8bitchip.info/astams.php
At bottom of page.

Awesome! Thanks! The patches worked.

I'd also be interested in purchasing a copy of your driver. Do I just send you an email?

Well it was free, both of them were.

I wish I had taken more... There was soo much old school stuff there, I almost crapped my pants. It looks like the engineers were well and truly in charge.

What happened is that all the TV networks realised that you can now do a broadcast from a mobile phone and they sacked all the engineers and shut down Television Hill and moved the reporters to nice offices in the city, all four TV stations.

The abandoned studios were the coolest thing I have ever seen. It's all in landfill now and the site is now appartments. :(

This was only last year.
