Post by francouai » Sat Sep 23, 2017 7:37 pm

Hello guys,

I have plenty of originals disks game for Atari St.
90% of them doesn't work (read error).
I tried to format some of the disk without success. it failed during the process.

Is their any software to fix my disks or all to bin? :?

I'd rather think of a drive issue, did you try recapping and exxos's dma fix (new cpu)?
btw did you try cleaning the drive?
If i take too long to reply, sorry my cat is sleeping on my laps.

heads on floppy ?
I think the disks are demagnetized.

yes, if you are trying to read floppies on 3 floppy drives which have not being serviced then its not a good test.

I hardly ever had any failed floppies, even after 30 years. So makes me think its a machine problem. You could send me a couple of floppies to test here if you want.

if they have been stored in a damp location then they likely gone moldy. have you taken a floppy apart and inspected the media ?
