Hi all,
I was looking into replacing a broken Cherry MX Black switch on a Mega ST keyboard. Browsing Cherry's key offerings I saw that there are two switches that could match: One with 3.7 mm travel (MX 3A-11nn), one with 4mm travel (MX 1A-11nn).
As I can't find a type code on the original switch, I tried measuring the key travel - it's somewhere in between those offerings.
Does anybody know which exact type was used by ATARI?
Mega ST keyboard, which Cherry MX Black type?

Do you know if both types existed in 1987 or so?

Good hint - turns out of those only the MX 1A existed in 1987.

I replaced mine with cherry browns and they're absolutely beautiful.

Did you do the whole keyboard? Just wondering how much that cost and how long it took.

I just need to replace one switch, but if you're interested in replacing more:
For 50-99 pcs the price is around 0.53 EUR per switch, 0,44 EUR per switch for >= 100 switches.
There are also two so called "Developer kits" for MX Silet Red and MX Speed Silver switches which cost 40 EUR and include 110 switches.
Best regards,
Wilfried
