Just for everyone's reference, the Apple USB Ethernet adapter (MC704LL/A) works with the Lightning VME card and connects to the network, at least with the modified UIPtool supplied with the Lightning VME. I've not had a chance to test the STiNG and MiNT drivers.
Seeing as the Apple adapters are dead easy to find and are (I assume) guaranteed to have the same chipset they're probably the least risky purchase option on the 'Net.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Thats good to know stephen. Glad you got it working.
I have my adaptor running under MiNT and having the keyboard and mouse also working off of it is great.
I may get hold of one of these as then I can retire my NetUSBee from my TT to be used on another Atari.

FYI Stephen, this model doesn't seem to be available in europe... When searching on ebay MC704LL/A only shows up in USA. There are other models in EU but I do not know if they are the same.
