IOMEGA JAZ

Post by francouai » Thu Jan 11, 2018 7:13 am

Good day guys!

I'm planning to buy a IOMEGA JAZ SCSI for my FALCON.
I need this drive as "backup" solution, I can get one for 50euros with JAZ disks. so no bad.

In the past, I bought a IOMEGA ZIP drive and I still have some ZIP disks.

Do you know if the JAZ is compatible with my FALCON and do I have to install drivers ? (from where)
JAZ drive can read/write ZIP disks too?

thanks.

What version is it? IDE/Parallel/SCSI
I do recall my friend having some kind of zip drive on his STE but he had to use some adaptor and I remember it costing a lot, I thought it was SCSI but a Google says there was some weird cart thing people used?

Alot of the posts point to the STs parallel port being different to a PCs causing more issues again.
Those posts seem to mention adaptors, sorry I cant help more :(

I have a SCSI Jazz drive I use on my Falcon with HDDriver just fine.

With regards to compatibility with Zip discs I do not believe so but cannot say for sure.

I'd like to buy a SCSI JAZ for my Falcon.

2Go on a disk is not too bad to backup :)

price of this IOMEGA is very low. 8-)
