Thanks Frank, that;s great.

I've corrected it now, probably an issue between translation and my typing later!

Ok, that is great. Fortunately, I can read and understand German. I wonder how I am going to fit this in a normal STFM.... Probably sell one of my STFM’s and get a Mega ST instead... :P

Mine is likely to be on a bare STFM mainboard I have spare.

Ok, I have updated the parts list slightly, adding sockets and other miscellaneous parts. I've also added the documentation Frank kindly sent me with the PCB I bought.

As soon as I have a full complement of parts (Working out what I have & haven't got atm, and what I need to buy), I will begin my build, and will post my progress here.

I'm also short on some tools, such as GAL programmer and ROM burner, so that will likely hold me up a bit.

And so it begins!

Started assembly last night, and in terms of the capacitors, resistors, sockets etc,the parts list is good to go.

I managed to get all the caps and resistors soldered in, plus all of the jumpers, and made a start on the sockets.

So far, the only real gotcha are the 2 caps UNDER the CPU socket. just make sure they are lying flat enough to the board that the socket will fit over the top, and keep them lying down whilst you solder.

The CPU socket is rather a fiddle due to the 3 rows of pins down 3 sides. Either use a very fine soldering iron, or do the inner and outer edges first, trim down, then do the middle row.

Where did you find the PGA114 socket? I've searched, but they seem really difficult to find. I now have the 68020, the FPU and the GAL's and the PLCC68 socket. That was'nt a big problem to find. Rest of the stuff will be ordered from DigiKey.

If I can't find a 114 PGA socket, I think I will make a socket with SIL socket connectors.
