Cool, thanks for that, it's an FX that I got.Atarian Computing wrote: ↑Tue Jul 17, 2018 11:44 am"DC out for optional NEC products such as the Soundbar attachment. Do not use this connector unless specified"Forgottenmyname wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 9:38 pm Picked one of these up on ebay for £10.
Wish I'd had one of these before, quality is great for the ST. I bet they were expensive when new.
Thanks for the suggestion.
P.S. Whats the round port near the power cable for?
So you got the SX or SXi?
NEC Multisync LCD
Re: NEC Multisync LCD
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: NEC Multisync LCD
One big difference are they available adjustments. Only the SXi (and maybe the SX too?) offer options for vertical scaling, and the FX and NX series does not. You can adjust horizontal scaling on all models, but this will not help you much. I still struggle with my 1970NXP in med resolution, which really looks crap compared to the Framemeisters scaling. Crap as in unreadable. I'll try to find the least bad settings and will post some pics then.
But I have to admit, I have nothing bad to say about the PVA panel, it looks quite nice...

Re: TT Software overscan?
Can you post some pictures from your FX? Because the ones I've just tried definitely do not leave a 'range rover' impression:Atarian Computing wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 3:54 pmThe two 1990FX monitors do glorious 15khz
The 1990SX, like its big brother the 1990SXi, was out of sync. But I wasn't expecting any of them to do 15khz. So chuffed because my only 15khz monitor so far has been the BenQ BL702A which, compared to NEC, well it's a LADA where NEC is a top spec Range Rover.
As you can see, ST High looks awesome (as expected) but ST Low and especially ST Middle, well... exactly as Ingo says, there's no vertical size adjustment, only horizontal, so I couldn't get rid of the scaling/anti-aliasing errors. And even on these photos it looks way better than in reality.
What kind of setting have you done on that monitor? There's this 'Fine' slider (no idea what does it do, it always makes one letter better and another worse), 'Black level' (doesn't seem to have much influence) and than the 'Horizontal size' which could be a key to better picture but there's like 200 positions to try.

2006-2007 models and sold for many years.
I did say compared to the Lada, which in this case was the BenQ. I can't test right now as several other projects are taking the little space I have left. That 'Fine' slider, iirc, did wonders on the SXi to get scaling perfect. It's not intuitive and even on the SXi it took me a while to figure it out.mikro wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 10:06 am Can you post some pictures from your FX? A more recent discovery: The 1970NXP's panel is 50Hz capable. Meaning butter smooth scrolling on PAL machines..
