Hi people,
I took a punt on a TL866II Plus from Amazon this week (after some great advice from the guys on thw forum) there is always the risk of getting a counterfeit product, especially since the price was so good (£50) but from what I can see, it seems to be genuine and high quality. Not tested it yet, just opened and took pictures. Seller on Amazon was LAQIYA and was delivered within two days of order.

Yep. That's the genuine article.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I keep my unit busy testing ttl very handy and I put together a power supply for doing the chips that need to get to 21v an 25v for better programming

Cheers for looking guys, I just need to learn how to use it next. Being a Linux user hopefully I can find some open source alternative to the official windows software. I think there is

The official software does important firmware upgrades etc. It also has the TTL logic database and the ability to design your own logic tests. It’s not just a simple EPROM programmer.
It should work under Wine if you can get that set up.

I have to agree with @stephen_usher, you do really need the Windows software to get the full experience.
It's why I've kept my Windows laptop despite upgrading my daily driver to a Macbook Pro M1Pro, which can no longer run X64 Windows under boot camp or Parallels, as it expects the ARM versions.
These things are fantastic for logic chip testing too.
I have seen it used under other OSes than Windows, but it tends to be command line only.
