Here is something I can personally recommend: The Atten Hot Air Rework Station 858D.
It is sold under a bunch of different names, mine is branded W.E.P., and on Amazon you can find it i.e. under Uvistar 858D. I paid roughly 35 EUR for it. It is surprisingly well built, temperature and air flow can be preselected and it automatically disables, when you put it in the holder. It comes with some nozzles in different sizes and a small tool (constisting of wire and handle, forming a fork), that can be used to lift SMT ICs. The latter is quite handy, you push the the thin wires under the IC and start heating it up. As soon as it is melted the weight of the handle is enough to lift the part up.
So far I desoldered some SMT ICs with it, which worked really well. It is also handy for shrinking tube.
Some of the first models appearantly had an issue with bad power wiring, but mine was perfectly fine. In addition, there are some mods out in the wild that enhance the temperature selection and fix a slight overshoot when heating up. I did not consider this as a real problem, so I didn't bother.
Dave from EEVblog tested this as well, here is his review:

be carefull with this one, someone had a very bad surprise. Lucky the station didn't power on. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/dead ... k-station/
I'm rather using the stamos s-ls-3, at least it came with a german quality certificate and works perfectly. (i don't know which one is the clone).
are amazon links banned on the forum?

But it didn't work at all for me. Even the link didn't show.

Probably bad amazon servers. Its better to just upload images here than linking. As external links probably won't be valid in the future.

Yes, I know, that's what I meant, when I wrote, that some earlier models had bad power wiring. But I did not encounter any more recent reports of that, and some german comments on Amazon said, that this particular issue was sorted by later revisions.Maeke wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 10:27 am be carefull with this one, someone had a very bad surprise. And of course I checked mine, before I even plugged it in anyways But you are right, better be careful and check if your's is wired correctly. Which would be wises suggestion for everything cheap from china
