On TT there is always one language in the ROM,

And yes right the Extra TT resolution has to be added.

My thought is, when we make a new accelerator we want to use Tos3.06 because this has all what we need, but the AES could be looking more modern, if you know what i mean.

I hope there will be someone todo it.... i testet MultiTos gem.sys using own compiled mint kernel. Its working well so far but not plain tos. And my opinion is, there are a lot of great hardware stuff on the marked but not OS Changes. And changing the AES would be a great goal.

I tried that fastboot TOS 2.16. It just boots not ACSI hard disk, so I really don't get what that fastboot means, and why is it in name, and not AES from Falcon something. Indeed unfinished, as some things make it crash.

Now, considering complain of tuxie that no OS changes - really ? I made some 3-4 posts about it here, and you say that ?
Of course, everyone prefers something else. For me, AES change is not interesting. What is in 2.06 is pretty good. And it is of course not only AES but Desktop too, what here is meant actually, and what is something better in Falcon - well, in my opinion only little visual enhancements, so I don't see it as something worth of effort. And it needs plenty of it, when sources are not available. Even with sources it is damn hard.

What we have as finished is KAOS TOS, what has some patches and visually changed Desktop. All it in 192KB, so really was no space for much.
Ah, and we have EmuTOS, what has lot of changes. Well, not sure that all it is in better direction, But it is free !
Situation is not good, could someone say, but what you expect for 30 years old HW ? TOS 2.06 has basically all goodies what some modern TOS considering Desktop - what makes starting of SW easy. If just all parts of TOS would be so good ...

I think TOS206 desktop is good how it is. Sure 404 on falcon may have nicer things, but different hardware, video modes. Oddly some things in 206 run slower than 104, so sometimes updating things are not so good.

Indeed, would tos 2.06 be as fast as rainbow tos (being the 1.04 or the 1.62 depending on the computer), it would be the best os for the hardware we have. Most of the changes in tos 4.04 are meant for the falcon's hardware.
And, well, there are allways been some third party softwares allowing us to customise the look and feel of the os, like color ste http://gtello.pagesperso-orange.fr/colorste.htm

A good point, wonder what version actually allowed desktop icons to be changed like on the falcon..and that site.. ? think it was icons.rsc had to be used can't really remember now!

Sometimes it's slower not because new code is slower really, but because some new things are added in same routine, and that usually means slower resulting work. And AES and TOS have many of multi-function/parameter calls. For instance text outprint, where can set really lot of styles, sizes and other things. In some literature it is called monster rutine.
Changing Desktop icons is actually easy - all it is in Desktop rsc - what is regular RSC structure, so can edit with some RSC editor - when manage to extract it from TOS. I did some changes in past, mostly for fun.
