I had no problems with floppy access with CPU _and_ MMU/RAM at double speed, FWIW.

Well, I run TOS 1.04 core (where floppy code is) on Mega STE at 16 MHz well. (TOS 1.56), but it is only 16 MHz. I want more

I think that I will add TOS 2.06 to modding candidates too. For now, I will change only something in floppy code - more in other thread (recent one).

Well I guess PAK 030 running 40mhz for years would suggest not much problem.. Though I think it might have used TOS306, so not sure it thats the same code as TOS206. But I guess problem is not shown up anywhere yet...

I did dig little in TOS 2.06 floppy code. Timer-C is involved at several places. So, it may take more time than I thought. Or maybe just stick to original plan - 1.56, 1.66 ... That will be more compatible because lower RAM usage too. The real problem here is that there are so many possibilities, and life is short

Well, I think stick to enhancements and bug fixes like you are already doing anyway :)

Really, partition support, and CPU support I think are main things.

And of course what you did to patching here with this...
viewtopic.php?f=39&t=430&start=30#p3462

I find that incredibly useful for many reasons with development and testing. So I think this should be a standard feature as well :)

Improved FAT16 feature is finished and tested a lot. It is just that there is space for more improvements, added features, so I don't rush with release. Especially as it is planned as sending programmed EPROMs . I had no clue at start of year how much ROM space will be able to gain. It is now 16 KB, and that's beyond any expectation. And testing is better to do with not much of it added at once. In any case, I will not go in something harder, complex, time consuming this year for sure. What is done already took really plenty of time.
