Sadly the CPU runs fraction slower with RAM & ROM access  so technically things like games could actually run 1% slower with this CPU

Incidentally newdesk.inf has to be disabled otherwise it gives 4 bombs after the logo appears.

As a side note, the CPU seem to get rather hot very quickly!

According to what I see in literature, there are some instructions which execute about 10% faster.
Main diff in compare to 68000 is virtual memory support. What is not of use on ST(E) . Maybe on Mega STE with VME bus. That needs vector offset register and larger stackframe (what can self cause that 1% lower speed in some cases) . And of course, it causes plenty of incompatibility with diverse SW, mostly games.

I've had this CPU running in my STE for the past couple of hours.. It does seem to get very hot even at 8MHz...

Oddly the temperature across the CPU seems to vary front to back...

37c front
42c middle
54c back
