Time for 50mhz 030 Megadrive. Sonic ain't fast enough for Terriblefire!

Somebody needs to try strapping one of the exxos 16Mhz accellerators on....

More seriously, what are /Halt and /Reset doing? And the address/data lines?

Also, you mentioned it was on RF, have you considered trying another video connection, or retuning the TV?

I suppose you aren't getting sound though, also suggesting it is dead.

How about the wandering gangs of dodgy looking electrolytics? Any fishy residue noticeable?

Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

Nothing nasty looking on the caps. Will check HALT.

Have you checked the electrolytic capacitors around the sound chip and motherboard they leak and cause shorts or act kike resistors

All the caps were fine. The machine is now in landfill. It looked like someone had struggled with this before.

A sure sign it's not going to be a smooth run.

I agree with you, they are so cheap that it's best to just buy another than to spend time fixing ones that probably have multiple faults.
