Re: Mega Drive Blank Screen No Sound
Somebody needs to try strapping one of the exxos 16Mhz accellerators on....
More seriously, what are /Halt and /Reset doing? And the address/data lines?
Also, you mentioned it was on RF, have you considered trying another video connection, or retuning the TV?
I suppose you aren't getting sound though, also suggesting it is dead.
How about the wandering gangs of dodgy looking electrolytics? Any fishy residue noticeable?

Have you checked the electrolytic capacitors around the sound chip and motherboard they leak and cause shorts or act kike resistors

All the caps were fine. The machine is now in landfill. It looked like someone had struggled with this before.

A sure sign it's not going to be a smooth run.terriblefire wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:18 am It looked like someone had struggled with this before.
I agree with you, they are so cheap that it's best to just buy another than to spend time fixing ones that probably have multiple faults.

Ebay ones appear less often than they do on Gumtree and FB marketplace.

I'd grab that at it's fairly close to me, check locally to you.
